About Tania…

Many of my clients are people who have learned to survive by being strong. They are professionals, caregivers, immigrants, partners, and high-functioning adults who carry trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use challenges, or the impact of gender-based violence, often without anyone truly seeing the weight they hold.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #25111) with advanced clinical experience in private practice and forensic mental health. I currently work within a Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) team with the Provincial Health Services Authority, supporting individuals with complex trauma, concurrent disorders, severe and persistent mental illness, and justice system involvement. My work has placed me at the intersection of trauma, addiction, violence, and systemic barriers, where stability, safety, and accountability must be rebuilt carefully and skillfully.

I specialize in trauma recovery, gender-based violence, concurrent disorders, emotional regulation, and attachment injuries. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and trauma-informed care. My work is structured, clinically grounded, and deeply relational.

As an immigrant, mother, and woman who rebuilt her professional life in a new country while pursuing advanced education, I understand resilience beyond theory. I bring cultural awareness, directness, and steady presence into the therapy room.

I provide counselling in English, Dari, and Farsi. Clients describe my approach as calm, grounded, and precise. Therapy with me is not about fixing you. It is about helping you move from survival mode into clarity, strength, and self-trust, with accountability, compassion, and real psychological tools that create lasting change.

Sahar offers both in person and virtual appointments.
