About Sahar…
Many of Sahar’s clients are people who have learned to survive by being strong. They are professionals, caregivers, immigrants, partners, and high-functioning adults who carry trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use challenges, or the impact of gender-based violence, often without anyone truly seeing the weight they hold.
Sahar is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #25111) with advanced clinical experience in private practice and forensic mental health. She currently works within a Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) team with the Provincial Health Services Authority, supporting individuals with complex trauma, concurrent disorders, severe and persistent mental illness, and justice system involvement. Her work has placed her at the intersection of trauma, addiction, violence, and systemic barriers, where stability, safety, and accountability must be rebuilt carefully and skillfully.
Sahar specializes in trauma recovery, gender-based violence, concurrent disorders, emotional regulation, and attachment injuries. She integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and trauma-informed care. Sahar’s work is structured, clinically grounded, and deeply relational.
As an immigrant, mother, and woman who rebuilt her professional life in a new country while pursuing advanced education, Sahar understands resilience beyond theory. She brings cultural awareness, directness, and steady presence into the therapy room.
Sahar provides counselling in English, Dari, and Farsi. Clients describe her approach as calm, grounded, and precise. Therapy with Sahar is not about fixing you. It is about helping you move from survival mode into clarity, strength, and self-trust, with accountability, compassion, and real psychological tools that create lasting change.
Sahar offers both in person and virtual appointments.
